A SHORT DESCRIPTION OF A UBIS COURSE - A typical UBIS course is 10 weeks long and is divided into 3 main periods:

1. The 1st week pre-course: After registration, the student answers the roll call, introduces himself to the class and reads the introductions from the other students. The student receives guide lines for the course from the Teacher.

2. The 8 week course: The study period is divided into 4 periods of 2 weeks each.

The 1st week the Teacher posts 6 questions. The student is requested to log-in and to answer to 3 of the 6 questions.

The 2nd week is the discussion week. The student is requested to log-in and to post comments and ideas.

The 2 week-long period is repeated 3 more times making a total of 8 weeks.

3. The 1 week-long Summary week: During this week, the student receives a summary assignment and a questionnaire. It is requested that the student answer both.

Dear UBIS Students,
For over 17 years, UBIS has offered courses with the following ten-week format: an introductory first week, four two-week study periods, and a conclusion week that includes the writing of an essay and the filling out of the student evaluation questionnaire (SEQ). After receiving some requests to shorten the length of the courses, the UBIS team designed a six-week course following the same model except that the study portion of the course will be two periods of two weeks instead of four. This course, in addition to the regular courses, will be offered during the next three trimesters as a test.
Space is limited, so be sure to register early if you want to take this course.
Sincerely,
The UBIS Team
